Field Service Technician/Engineer
(based in the United States of America)

Job Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the installation, programming, and repair of material handling equipment, such as palletizers, stretch hood machines, programmable controllers, conveyors, and parts orienters, applying knowledge of electronics, electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming, using power tools, hand tools, and testing instruments and following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints. You review work orders and related manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to determine tasks to be performed and tools, equipment, and parts needed for installation or repair.
• You discuss assignment with customer's representative and inspect installation site to verify that electrical supply wires, conduit, switches, and circuit breakers are installed according to specifications.
• You position and secure machinery and related equipment to floor, assisted by customer's staff, using crane, hand tools, and power tools and following manuals and blueprints, or inspects installation site to ensure that robot has been installed according to specifications. You attach electrical wires to machinery and programmable controller and connect cables between machinery, programmable controller, and pneumatic and/or hydraulic devices, using hand tools. You connect hoses to pneumatic and/or hydraulic devices, using hand tools. You verify that electrical power is reaching machinery and that voltage is as specified, using testing instruments. You push buttons, flip switches, and move levers to start machinery and related equipment to verify that operation is as specified. You modify programming code to refine movement of machinery.
• You observe and listen to machinery and related equipment to detect malfunction and repairs or replaces defective parts, using handtools and power tools. You test electrical components, such as wiring, switches, and relays, using testing instruments, and replaces faulty components, using hand tools. You locate and replace faulty circuits in control panel, applying knowledge of circuit board function, using computer display screen and following schematic diagram.
• You may train customer's staff in operation of machinery and related equipment.

Job Requirements

• 2 or more years of experience for material handling machinery field service work, meeting the responsibility requirements outlined above
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively, both within the U.S. as well as abroad
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
• Eligibility to work in the United States of America
