Highest conveying capacity for Ambuja Cement in India

Beckum, 12 July 2007. The Holcim Group, headquartered in Switzerland is the world's second largest cement producer. Together with Ambuja Cement, as part of the Holcim Group, the company has sharply increased his market share in the Indian cement market. Especially due to the boom in the construction and infrastructure sector Ambuja Cement has been able to permanently position itself at the upper peak of the market. In order to cope up with increased demand, Ambuja Cement is setting up a large cement plant at Bhatapara with a capacity of 8500 tpd for which BEUMER has been awarded with the supply of a high-capacity belt bucket elevator of a class of its own. With a centre to centre distance of 158 metres and a capacity of 650 tph this bucket elevator is so far the tallest in the world. Because of their technology BEUMER will be able to supply bucket elevators with even taller heights and higher capacities in the future.

In particular in regard of high-capacity belt bucket elevators the BEUMER Group has done pioneering work and is among the market leaders in this field. With this order, the specialist in material handling will once again be setting standards.
At the Ambuja Cement Works in Bhatapara the new 8,500 ton/day kiln line for cement production is under implementation. The preheater will be fed with raw meal by the new BEUMER belt bucket elevator. Besides its enormous height, the elevator is distinguished by having the remarkable width of 1250 millimetres. The stately size of this bucket elevator, unique up to now, enables a conveying capacity of 650 tph.
Along with the Indian subsidiary, BEUMER Technology India Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai, the new bucket elevator is scheduled to be delivered in early 2008.
