BEUMER Belt Tray Sorter

The BEUMER Belt Tray Sorter uses the cross-belt sorter principle by linking forms a sequence of moving conveyor belts, which convey at an angle of 90° to the direction of travel of the sorter. To enable the induction of an item, the corresponding belt tray conveyor is activated. The transported item is fed on the belt tray with a speed adapted to the sorter speed and to the angle of induction. The reverse process takes place during the discharge process: the belt moves towards the discharge and the item is gently guided in the destination.

Compared to other cross belt sorters, the BEUMER Belt Tray Sorter includes 50 % less components. The distance between the single conveyor belts has been reduced to a minimum. This unique Belt-Tray-Design can achieve highest sorting capacities on very small footprint.

Each belt tray is driven by a commercially proven DC-motor (direct current motor), which is maintainance-free during its service life. The necessary energy is transmitted contactless to the belt trays. In combination with the contactless linear drive of the whole system, wear and tear of the sorter and maintenance are reduced to a minimum.
