Application Engineer – Conveying and Loading Systems

Location: Branchburg, NJ

General Responsibility
The applications engineering position is a hands-on job requiring excellent organizational and communication skills. This position offers the opportunity for substantial career development and will report to the Division Manager and will work closely with the Sales Engineer, Engineering, Project Management and Purchasing. The work is mostly independent but also involves coordination efforts with other departments.
 
Responsibilities

• Gathering and analyzing of customer requirements
• Design and development of solutions
• Consulting with Sales, Engineering, and Application Development on system designs
• Demonstrations and presentation of BEUMER Corporation solutions
• Cost Estimate and Proposal creation
• Tools and process development
• Central clearing-house for all technical issues/questions from the Sales Team
• Attend conference calls and on-site meetings with customers
• Work with sales person and project engineer to transition a proposal to an order

Requirements/Skills and Abilities Required

• BS/BA degree preferable in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• 2 to 5 years experience in sales or engineering environment
• Excellence in time management; Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
• Excellence in communication (both verbal and written)
• Practical hands on experience dealing with external clients
• Professional, positive, and energetic attitude
• Spanish and/or German language skills could be beneficial

Desired

• High degree of computer literacy, including use of various software tools; Experience in MS Word, Power Point, Excel, email / Familiarity with standard drawing applications such as Visio and CAD
• Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent listening skills resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction. Must be able to listen for opportunities as well as potential technical hurdles
• Technical experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: experience in Warehousing, Distribution, bulk material handling; systems design and analysis
